The education ministry said Singh will hold the additional responsibility until a full-time AICTE chairman is appointed, following the completion of TG Sitharam’s tenure earlier this month.

The Ministry of Education has given Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh additional responsibility as Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education, officials said.
Singh takes over following the completion of the tenure of the outgoing AICTE Chairman, TG Sitharam, on Dec 20.

According to an official communication from the ministry, Singh will continue in the role until a regular chairman is appointed or further orders are issued by the government.
Currently serving as the 23rd Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, Singh has previously held several key academic leadership positions.
He earlier served as vice chancellor of Delhi Technological University and has also headed the National Council for Teacher Education.

In August 2023, the central government assigned him additional charge as Director of the School of Planning and Architecture.
His earlier roles include serving as Director of Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi, from 2014 to 2017.
Before that, Singh was Vice Chancellor of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat from 2011 to 2014.
