Singh highlighted women's safety as another priority and called for collaborative action, including workshops to address related concerns. He reiterated the administration's commitment to providing a safe environment for female students.

On student mental health, the vice-chancellor directed that every college should have a counselor. He also asked DUSU representatives to identify colleges where the position remained vacant so that the gaps could be addressed.

The university is also planning to establish a wellness center in every college, Singh said. The proposed centers are part of the broader effort to strengthen student support and well-being across the campus.

Two to three hostels expected to be completed this year

Responding to concerns about hostel accommodation, Singh said the university was addressing the issue in "mission mode". He added that two to three hostels were expected to be completed during the current year.

The vice-chancellor also assured student representatives that the university was willing to make reasonable investments in sports facilities. He suggested that DUSU coordinate with the university's Sports Council and Cultural Council to take forward initiatives in sports and cultural activities.

The newly elected office-bearers assured Singh of their constructive cooperation with the university administration, stating their commitment to working in students' interests.
