ENTOD Pharmaceuticals industry-academia collaboration with DPGU and BNCP for pharmaceutical research and topical drug delivery development.

ENTOD Pharmaceuticals Limited is expanding its engagement with academic institutions through collaborations with Dnyaan Prasad Global University (DPGU) and SVKM’s Dr. Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy (Autonomous), Mumbai (BNCP). The initiatives are intended to strengthen pharmaceutical research, encourage practical learning and create opportunities for students and researchers to work on industry-relevant projects.

As part of its association with DPGU, ENTOD has signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for collaborative research and academic engagement. The agreement covers joint research projects, scientific publications, patent-related activities and research proposals. It also provides for potential participation in conferences, certification programmes, faculty development, student training and internships, subject to mutually agreed conditions.

The partnership is designed to bring academic research closer to pharmaceutical development by connecting university researchers with industry experience. Depending on approvals and agreed arrangements, DPGU faculty members and researchers may also receive access to selected research facilities, training focused on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and industry mentorship.

ENTOD and BNCP Collaborate on Topical Drug Delivery Research

ENTOD has also established a separate research collaboration with BNCP under the academic supervision of Dr Prachi Pimple, a faculty member and project guide.

The project, titled “Formulation, Development and Evaluation of Topical Drug Delivery System,” focuses on research and formulation development, along with testing and evaluation activities associated with the study.

Topical drug delivery systems are designed to administer medicines through application to the skin or other external body surfaces. Research in this area can involve the development of suitable formulations and the assessment of their relevant physical, chemical and performance characteristics. The specific formulation and intended application of the BNCP project have not been detailed in the announcement.

ENTOD Highlights the Role of Industry–Academia Partnerships

Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO and Global Head of Innovation at ENTOD Pharmaceuticals, said collaboration between universities and pharmaceutical companies could help channel India's scientific talent towards practical innovation.

He emphasised the value of combining academic perspectives, industry experience and research infrastructure to encourage young researchers to develop ideas with potential real-world healthcare applications.

Dr Snehal S. Chakorkar, Assistant Professor and Innovative Ambassador at DPGU's School of Pharmacy and Research, said academic research could deliver broader benefits when scientific findings are translated into practical products and solutions.

She highlighted the role of industry partnerships in encouraging students and research supervisors to explore innovation beyond conventional academic work and develop solutions relevant to pharmaceutical needs.

Focus on Research Skills and Indigenous Innovation

The collaborations reflect ENTOD Pharmaceuticals' stated focus on strengthening domestic pharmaceutical research and supporting emerging researchers. By creating opportunities for academic institutions and industry professionals to work together, the initiatives aim to improve exposure to research practices, formulation development and the practical requirements of pharmaceutical innovation.

The longer-term outcomes will depend on the projects undertaken, research findings and any resulting intellectual property or product development. The announcements do not establish that a new medicine or commercially available product has already emerged from either collaboration.

Through its associations with DPGU and BNCP, ENTOD aims to strengthen the connection between academic learning and pharmaceutical industry practice while supporting the development of future researchers and healthcare innovators.
