HLVM3 is India's inaugural human-rated launch vehicle, modified from the established LVM3 (GSLV Mk III) framework, created to securely transport astronauts (Gaganyatris) into Low Earth Orbit as part of the Gaganyaan initiative.

Created By:

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO)

Created with direction from the Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC)

Goal of the Mission:

Facilitate secure launch, orbital placement, and return of Indian astronauts.

Provide the foundation for upcoming long-term projects such as the Bharatiya Antariksha Station and India's lunar landing.

Develop independent capabilities in human space exploration and showcase sophisticated space safety technologies.

Principal Aspects of HLVM3:

Configuración en Tres Etapas:

Two solid rocket boosters S200, L110 liquid core stage, and C25 cryogenic stage.

Able to carry approximately 10 tonnes to Low Earth Orbit.

Modifications Rated for Human Use:

Systems enhanced for redundancy, fault tolerance, and alternative routes.

Created with improved safety thresholds and strengthened quality control measures.

Crew Escape System (CES):

Five varieties of motors have been tested already.

Facilitates secure crew ejection during ascent in critical situations.

Functional from launch to orbit insertion stage.

Crew Module (CM) and Service Module (SM):

CM was tested for re-entry, parachute activation, thermal endurance.

SM manages power, propulsion, and environmental regulation.
