The 90-year-old scholar's decision to sit for the examination inspired fellow candidates and educators, demonstrating that the pursuit of knowledge need not end with age.

A 90-year-old scholar from Bihar's Begusarai district has drawn attention for his commitment to lifelong learning after appearing for an Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) examination, inspiring students and educators alike.
Acharya Sitaram Sahu appeared for a Sanskrit examination at the IGNOU center located at GD College in Begusarai.

His presence at the examination center surprised many candidates, teachers, and staff members, who were impressed to see him continuing his academic pursuits at an age when most people have retired from formal education.
The examination was based on the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, a subject that reflects Sahu's longstanding interest in Sanskrit and traditional Indian texts.
Sahu said learning should continue throughout a person's life and that age should never be viewed as an obstacle to gaining knowledge.
He believes that as long as an individual remains physically and mentally capable, the desire to learn should be maintained.
According to him, education serves a purpose beyond earning a degree or securing employment.
He views it as a means of gaining a deeper understanding of life, which motivated him to continue his studies and sit for the examination.
His participation has become a source of inspiration for many students, particularly those who face academic challenges or setbacks. Observers at the examination center said his determination demonstrated that pursuing educational goals is possible at any stage of life.
Sahu maintains that learning is a continuous process and that people can acquire new knowledge and skills regardless of their age. His appearance at the examination center has highlighted the value of lifelong education and perseverance.
