Govt deploys more boots on ground to combat terrorism in Jammu

But it seems to have become epicenter of terrorism in recent weeks prompting the government to take a series of security measures to tackle the surge in terrorism particularly in south of the Pir Panjal range.

The apex court, however, made it clear that states have to make sub-classification on the basis of "quantifiable and demonstrable data" of backwardness and representation in government jobs and not on "whims" and as a matter of "political expediency".
