Sai Teja, an MBA student in Chicago who worked part-time as a store manager, was killed when robbers broke into the shop and fired at him as they were leaving.
A tragic incident has claimed the life of Sai Teja in Chicago, USA, a 22-year-old student from Raparthinagar in Khammam, Telangana.
Teja had moved to the US four months ago for his master's degree.
After finishing his classes, Teja used to work part-time as the store manager at a nearby store.
He was killed when some robbers broke into the store on Nov 29th, stole the money and then shot him as they were leaving.
His family is now asking the government for assistance in returning the body.
Teja was in the store, which is close to a mall in Chicago. At about 6:30 pm, a few unidentified criminals broke in and demanded the money.
The employees unlocked the counter immediately and gave it to the robbers. Even though he made no attempt to fight, they shot him dead as they were ready to depart.
The Indian student, 26, died immediately. Chicago's local officials are investigating the matter.
This occurs months after another city student was brutally beaten and seriously hurt by four robbers in Chicago.
Syed Mazahir Ali, a resident of Hyderabad's Langar Houz, was kicked and assaulted by armed robbers in February.
He went to the United States to attend Indiana Wesleyan University to obtain a master's degree.
Three of the robbers were seen pursuing Ali close to his Chicago home on Campbell Avenue in the CCTV footage of the incident.
