Modi calls for global return to peaceful coexistence as leaders reaffirm strong India-Russia partnership.

During a pivotal meeting at Hyderabad House in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a resolute message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 5, declaring India’s clear stance amid the ongoing war in Ukraine: “India is not neutral; India is on the side of peace.”
President Putin, visiting India for a two-day official trip, was warmly welcomed by Modi at Palam Airport on December 4. The two leaders shared a personal handshake and embraced before traveling together to the Prime Minister’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, underscoring the depth of their diplomatic rapport.

Addressing the conflict, Modi emphasized the urgent need for the world to restore peace and peaceful coexistence. “The world should return to peace, and we support every effort towards peace,” Modi asserted, reinforcing India’s commitment to diplomatic solutions amid global tensions.

Putin expressed his gratitude for India’s engagement in peace efforts, acknowledging the opportunity to discuss the Ukrainian crisis in detail and highlighting joint initiatives with international partners, including the United States, aimed at a peaceful resolution.
Beyond the geopolitical dialogue, both leaders reaffirmed their strong bilateral ties, touching upon collaboration in military technology, space exploration, and artificial intelligence. Putin described their relationship as “very trusting” and expressed intentions to deepen cooperation in these critical sectors.
With Modi’s declaration and Putin’s reciprocal appreciation, the India-Russia partnership emerges as a steadfast alliance navigating turbulent global waters — united by a shared vision of peace and progress.
