Hardik Pandya's straightforward entry into the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 appears uncertain at this point.

In Rohit Sharma Meeting, BCCI Imposes Strict Condition for Hardik Pandya's T20 World Cup Selection: Report
Hardik Pandya, who is currently facing challenges, could encounter a significant setback if his performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 does not improve. So far, Pandya's batting performance has been underwhelming, with only 131 runs scored in 6 matches at an average of 26.20 this season. His bowling has been inconsistent, with minimal bowling in the last 4 matches and poor performance when he has bowled. With a spot in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad at stake, Pandya has reportedly received a clear directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee.
According to a report in the Indian Express, a meeting took place last week at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai, attended by India's head coach Rahul Dravid, selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar, and captain Rohit Sharma. During the meeting, the topic of Pandya's selection was discussed, with the management emphasizing the need for him to bowl regularly to be considered for selection.

Pandya has bowled at various stages this season but has yet to make a positive impact. As a powerplay bowler, he has conceded 44 runs in 4 overs, and during the middle-overs, he has allowed 62 runs in 6 overs. As a death bowler, he has given up 26 runs in just one over.
Among the contenders for Pandya's position in the team, Shivam Dube's name is at the forefront. However, the selectors reportedly have concerns about the Chennai Super Kings star, as he only plays as an Impact player for them. Dube is an all-rounder, but CSK has not utilized him for his bowling this season.
The left-handed batter has impressed many with his power-hitting this season, particularly against spinners. If he is selected for the T20 World Cup, he is likely to be used as a part-time bowler rather than a full all-rounder who can deliver 4 overs for the team.
