Indian dairy giant, Amul, has been announced as the sponsor for the USA cricket team and the South African cricket team in the upcoming T20 World Cup, starting in June.
In a ceremony held in New York, Amul was named the Lead Arm sponsor of the USA national cricket team. The tournament opener is scheduled between USA and Canada on June 1.

The United States has not yet announced its squad for the marquee tournament. The team make its tournament debut as one of the co-hosts, with matches set to commence on June 1. Notably, a portion of the tournament, including the semifinals and finals will be held in the Caribbean.
"This association with Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), responsible for marketing milk and milk products under the brand name Amul, signifies a significant step towards expanding and popularizing cricket across the nation," the USA cricket board said in a release.
"We are pleased to have Amul on board as the lead arm sponsor for the upcoming and eagerly awaited ICC Cricket T20 World Cup 2024. Amul’s extensive track record of sponsoring cricket teams underscores its commitment to nurturing talent, encouraging sportsmanship, and uniting communities globally. Collaborating with esteemed brands like Amul inspires us to strive for excellence both on and off the field, “ said Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket.
Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul, while talking about the significance of this partnership, said the goodness of Amul Milk will empower the USA Cricket team to succeed on the global stage.
“The goodness of Amul Milk will empower the USA Cricket team to win hearts and laurels from across the world. We wish our best to the team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024,” said Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Amul.
"Amul has been associated with the South Africa team in the 2019 ODI series and 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup. We are proud to further strengthen our association with the South Africa men's cricket team and wish them all the best for the T20 World Cup," he added on the association with the Proteas.
Meanwhile, South Africa will play their tournament opener against Sri Lanka on June 3.
Previously, Amul with global footprints has sponsored cricket teams including the Netherlands. Amul milk is also now being sold in the USA.
