Priyanka counters Modi's 'Shehzada' label for her brother Rahul, calling him an 'Shahenshah' living in palaces.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi vociferously responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reference to her brother Rahul Gandhi as 'Shehzada', by dubbing the PM as a 'Shahenshah' residing in grand palaces.
During a political gathering in Banaskantha, Gujarat, Priyanka highlighted that Modi labels her brother a 'Shehzada', despite him having traversed 4,000 kilometers to interact with the citizens and understand their issues. In contrast, she pointed out, Modi, whom she referred to as an 'Shahenshah', dwells in palaces.
She emphasized, “My brother has journeyed 4,000 kilometers, engaging with the populace, inquiring about their hardships... On the flip side, 'Shahenshah' Narendra Modi resides in palaces. How can he comprehend the plight of farmers and women?”
She further added, “Narendra Modi is ensconced in power. His entourage fears him. Nobody dares to confront him.”
Priyanka also questioned Modi's decision to run for elections from Uttar Pradesh, abandoning his home state Gujarat. She insinuated that the PM has lost touch with the people of Gujarat.
She queried, “If he hadn't lost connection with the people of Gujarat, why isn't he contesting elections from here?”
She alleged, “Modi has already reaped whatever advantages he could from you. After ascending to the position of Prime Minister, Modi has disregarded the people of Gujarat.”
In response to the Congress party's decision to nominate Rahul Gandhi from Raebareli instead of Amethi, Modi had earlier stated that he was aware of the 'Prince' seeking an alternative seat due to apprehensions of losing in Wayanad.
Modi had stated, "I had previously informed you that the 'Prince' is scouting for a different seat due to the fear of losing in Wayanad. Now he has had to abandon Amethi and opt for the Rae Bareli seat. These individuals go around advising everyone – Daro Mat! I would echo the same sentiment – don't be scared! Don't flee!".
