The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kapil Mishra on Dec 25 launched a sharp critique against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal regarding the recently announced Mahila Samman Yojana.

Mishra’s criticism followed a statement from Delhi's Department of Women and Child Development (WCD), which labeled the scheme as fraudulent.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mishra stated, “What a big fraud Kejriwal is doing with the sisters of Delhi. On one side, Kejriwal is getting women to fill out forms, and on the other, see the notice of the Delhi government in today’s newspapers.”

Mishra shared an image of the WCD notice, which categorically declared that no such scheme exists. The department clarified that any forms being filled under this name held no validity.

The notice emphasized that if and when a scheme is introduced, it will be officially notified, and an online portal will be created for eligible individuals to register.

The WCD department also issued a warning to the public, urging them not to share sensitive personal information, including bank details, voter ID numbers, or residential addresses. It raised concerns about potential exploitation of such data for cybercrimes and other fraudulent activities.

Responding to the allegations, Kejriwal accused his detractors of being unsettled by the Mahila Samman Yojana. Posting on X, the former Delhi Chief Minister said, “These people are badly upset by the Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjeevani Yojana.”

Kejriwal also alleged that there was a conspiracy to arrest Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi. “They have planned to arrest Atishi ji in the next few days by making a fake case. Before that, raids will be conducted on senior AAP leaders,” he claimed.

The political controversy has ignited heated debates, with BJP leaders criticizing the alleged misuse of public trust and AAP leaders defending their initiatives as genuine efforts for women’s welfare. The public has been advised to remain cautious and verify any claims before sharing personal details.
