According to sources, the restructured Cabinet is expected to exclude representatives from the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).
Nayab Singh Saini, the BJP state president and Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, is poised to be sworn in as the new Chief Minister. This leadership change follows the resignation of Manohar Lal Khattar and his ministerial team, signalling a forthcoming Cabinet reshuffle.
According to sources, the restructured Cabinet is expected to exclude representatives from the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP).
The BJP-JJP coalition has experienced tensions, particularly over the allocation of seats for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP has resisted the JJP's request for two out of Haryana's ten parliamentary constituencies.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh attributed the political turmoil in the state to the collective pressures exerted by various societal groups, including farmers, the youth, and athletes, suggesting that a broader national transformation is due.
Amid these developments, JJP's Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala engaged in discussions with BJP president J P Nadda in the capital. Reports indicate that Chautala was informed of the BJP's decision not to share any Lok Sabha seats with the JJP.
The current composition of the Haryana Assembly stands with the BJP holding 41 seats, the JJP with 10, and the Congress with 30. Additionally, the assembly includes seven Independent MLAs, as well as one representative each from the Indian National Lok Dal and the Haryana Lokhit Party. The political landscape in Haryana is undergoing a notable reconfiguration as the state prepares for the next phase of its legislative journey.
