Mumbai police initiates extradition process for gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's brother from US

Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is wanted in connection with the firing incident outside actor Salman Khan's home and several other criminal cases across India.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has reportedly initiated the extradition process for him.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently added Anmol to its most-wanted list and offered a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to his arrest.

US authorities have confirmed that Anmol is in the country, according to sources from the Mumbai Police.

He faces charges in more than 17 criminal cases in India, including the shocking murder of Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala.

According to reports, Anmol is suspected of supplying the weapons used in these high-profile murders, including a Glock and a Tisas handgun made in Turkey, both linked to the Oct 12 murder of former NCP leader Baba Siddique.

Further investigations have revealed that Anmol Bishnoi allegedly operated from both the US and Canada while maintaining contact with suspects in these cases through social media.

So far, ten people, including two shooters and an arms dealer, have been arrested in connection with Siddique's murder.

The Mumbai Police informed the Sessions Court on Oct 16 that they wish to extradite Anmol to charge him in connection with the Salman Khan case.

Anmol has been involved in planning illegal activities on behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently detained at Sabarmati Prison in Gujarat, according to a senior police official.

One of the shooters in the Salman Khan incident was recently denied bail by a Mumbai court, which cited evidence suggesting they acted at Anmol's direction.

Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi, both from Fazilka in Punjab, are considered the main suspects in this ongoing investigation.

A Red Corner Notice (RCN) was issued after Anmol was designated as a wanted fugitive. “Based on the RCN, US authorities contacted us a few months ago to alert us about Anmol’s presence in the US,” the official added.

Earlier, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police alleged that "agents" of the Indian government were collaborating with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to spread terror on Canadian soil, just hours after India withdrew its diplomats from Canada.

New Delhi has repeatedly denied such allegations, labeling them as "preposterous imputations."

The recent actions taken by the US Department of Justice regarding the alleged attempt to assassinate pro-Khalistan separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun also underscore the significance of the Anmol Bishnoi warning.

On Oct 18, the Delhi Police Special Cell arrested Vikash Yadav in an extortion case. Yadav is accused by the United States of "murder-for-hire and money laundering" in the alleged Pannun plot.
