The state aims to accelerate government hiring by Dec 31, requiring all departments to submit updated vacancy lists, with recruitment bodies planning a full-year calendar to fill positions within 2026.

Bihar is ramping up its government employment push, as the state administration has instructed all departments to send updated vacancy lists to the General Administration Department (GAD) by Dec 31.
The move is part of a five-year plan aiming to create one crore jobs between 2025 and 2030.

Employment generation has remained a priority for the state. Under the Saat Nischay-2 program, Bihar claims to have provided 50 lakh government jobs and opportunities from 2020 to 2025.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has emphasized that the new government is committed to ensuring all vacant positions are filled without delay.
The order applies to administrative departments, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, offices under the Police Headquarters, and other state-run bodies.
These offices must submit complete lists of vacant positions to the GAD within the deadline.

The department will verify the details and forward them to the appropriate recruitment commissions.
Additionally, recruitment bodies have been asked to issue a full-year recruitment calendar in January 2026, specifying advertisement dates, tentative exam schedules, and expected timelines for final results.
The state has mandated that the complete recruitment process, from advertisement to final results, be completed within one year, regardless of how many stages are involved.
