Vir Das took to Instagram to express his happiness and gratitude to his supporters, while a host of Bollywood actors to social media to congratulate him.

Stand-up comedian and actor Vir Das will host the 2024 International Emmys, he announced on Instagram to his fans and followers.
He is the first Indian to host this prestigious event, which will be held on November 25 in New York City.
Das shared a photo of the news article with a caption, "Thanks to your support, an Indian Emmy host. I can’t wait to host the @iemmys this year! Crazy. Thank you for having me. Tremendously honored and excited!"
Das expressed his excitement at getting the opportunity of hosting the Emmys.
He said, "I am so happy to be hosting the International Emmys. It's a massive, prestigious night to uphold makers from across a world that I believe is making its best content. I know firsthand how it can be life changing."
Das was previously nominated for an Emmy in 2021 for his special Vir Das: For India.
He won an International Emmy in 2023 for his Netflix special Landing. The comedian is now on an international Mind Fool tour. Besides stand-up comedy, Das has written, produced, and starred in various television shows, including ABC's Whiskey Cavalier, Netflix's Hasmukh, and Amazon's Destination Unknown.
Das starred in Judd Apatow's The Bubble and is working on a single-camera sitcom with CBS Studios and Andy Samberg.
He is also the lead singer for India's comedy-rock band Alien Chutney.
Das started his career in stand-up comedy, performing at various locations in India and overseas. His journey to prominence came through a combination of stand-up specials, live performances, and cameos in Bollywood films such as Delhi Belly, Go Goa Gone, and Badmaash Company.
A host of Bollywood celebrities took to social media to congratulate Das.
