The expanded aid policy will fully cover undergraduate costs for more families, extend tuition relief to higher income brackets, and align with broader efforts to widen access and socioeconomic diversity on campus.

Yale University has announced a major expansion of its financial aid policy, eliminating tuition and other required costs for newly admitted undergraduates from families earning less than $100,000 a year.
The Ivy League institution said the revised policy will apply to students enrolling from the upcoming fall semester.

Until now, Yale covered all expected costs only for students from families with annual incomes below $75,000.
By raising the threshold, the university said close to half of US households with children between the ages of 6 and 17 will now be eligible for full cost coverage.
Under the updated framework, Yale will also waive tuition for students from families earning under $200,000 a year, though some additional expenses may still apply for this group.
