The Move targets students affected by earlier delays, extends coverage across categories, and aims to improve access, reduce dropout risks, and support continuation of education through financial assistance programs.

Uttar Pradesh has reopened its scholarship and fee reimbursement portal for the 2025 to 26 academic year, giving students who missed earlier deadlines another chance to apply for financial assistance.
The decision, taken by the state government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is aimed at ensuring that eligible students are not excluded due to technical issues or procedural delays.

The scheme covers students from the general category, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and the transgender community.
Officials said the Social Welfare Department will now accept fresh applications from those who were unable to apply earlier, allowing them to access scholarship and fee reimbursement benefits.
Data from a previous drive shows that over 53,000 students received support worth ₹81.12 crore. Of this, ₹30.65 crore was disbursed to 25,395 Scheduled Caste students, while ₹50.47 crore went to 27,646 students from the general category.
Minister of State for Social Welfare Asim Arun said, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is committed to ensuring equal opportunities in education.”
He added that the initiative ensures that “every needy student has access to education and no student has to drop out due to financial reasons.”
Officials said reopening the portal is expected to help reduce gaps in access to education, particularly for students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The move is part of a broader effort to improve enrollment and retention rates in schools and higher education institutions.
The state government has been expanding welfare measures in education, with scholarships and fee reimbursements forming a key component of efforts to reduce dropout rates and support marginalized groups.
