The National Testing Agency has started the registration process for UGC NET June 2026, inviting applications from candidates seeking eligibility for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship, and PhD admissions.
Candidates can apply online through the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The last date to submit applications and pay the fee is May 20, 2026. The examination will be conducted from June 22 to June 30 in computer-based test mode.

In a key development, the University Grants Commission has introduced statistics as a separate subject under UGC NET, taking the total number of subjects to around 85.
The official notice reads, “The Commission, in its 597th meeting held on 18th April, 2026, has decided to add ‘Statistics’ as an additional subject from June 2026 onwards to the existing list of subjects of UGC-NET.”

As per the schedule, the correction window will be open from May 22 to May 24. Exam city details are expected by June 10, and admit cards will be released by June 15.
To be eligible, candidates must have a master’s degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks, with a relaxation to 50% for reserved categories. Final year postgraduate students can also apply provisionally.
Applicants are required to complete registration, fill in the form, upload documents, pay the application fee, and download the confirmation page.
The application fee varies by category. General category candidates need to pay around ₹1,150, OBC NCL and EWS candidates ₹600, and SC, ST, and PwD candidates approximately ₹325, based on the previous fee structure.
Candidates are advised to check the official notification for exact details.
