The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the registration dates for the UGC NET June 2024 exam to May 15.

"Therefore, in continuation to the Public Notice dated the 20 April 2024 regarding submission of online application form for UGC – NET June 2024 for (i) ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’, (ii) ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD’ and (iii) ‘admission to PhD only’ in Indian universities and colleges. NTA decided to extend the last date for submission of online application form for UGC - NET to June 2024, enabling the aspiring candidate(s) to apply,” it added.
Previously, the application registration window was ending on May 10.
Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman of the University Grants Commission, in a post on X, said, “The deadline for online Submission of Application Form for UGC – NET June 2024 has been extended to 15th May. Best wishes to all the applicants.”
Candidates who wish to appear in the exam can apply by 11:59 pm on the last date through the official website of the UGC NET, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
The deadline for submission of the examination fee through Credit card/Debit card/Net banking/UPI is May 16-17, 2024. The correction in the particulars of online application forms can be made from May 18-20, 2024.
"In case any candidate faces difficulty in applying for UGC – NET June 2024, he/she may contact 011 - 40759000 /011 - 69227700 or e-mail at [email protected] For further clarification related to the UGC – NET June 2024, the Candidates are advised to visit the official website(s) of NTA (www.nta.ac.in) and (https://ugcnet.nta.ac.in/, for the latest updates," the NTA notification added.
The UGC NET exam is scheduled to take place on June 18, 2024, and will last for 3 hours. The biannual examination determines eligibility for various academic pursuits, including the award of the Junior Research Fellowship, appointment as an assistant professor, and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges. NTA will conduct the UGC-NET for 83 subjects in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode.
