UGC-NET exam date rescheduled to avoid clash with UPSC preliminary exam

UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar announced that the National Eligibility Test (NET) will now be conducted on June 18 instead of June 16 to avoid a clash with the UPSC preliminary exam and announced.

The announcement came on Monday as UPSC CSE, scheduled to held on June 16, was clashing with UGC NET.
NTA will conduct UGC-NET in OMR mode across India on a single day. The application process has already started and the last date to apply is May 10.

This time, the candidates who are pursuing four year/8 semester bachelor’s degree program and are in their last semester/year can also apply. 

The eligibility includes candidates having passed a four-year or eight-semester bachelor’s degree program should have a minimum of 75 per cent marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.

UGC-NET exam determines the eligibility of Indian nationals for the "award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as assistant professor", "appointment as assistant professor and admission to PhD" and "admission to PhD only" in Indian universities and colleges.
