Tripura govt allocates ₹264 crore for school infrastructure development

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on June 17 announced that ₹264 crore has been earmarked for the development of school infrastructure across the state.

The move is part of the government's broader push to provide quality education and promote digital learning under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking at a felicitation event for students who excelled in the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examinations, Saha said the Education Department is working with a clear focus on improving academic standards and creating a better learning environment.

“They just need a proper platform, and that is what the state government is trying to provide,” he said, referring to the potential of Tripura’s students.

The CM, who also heads the education portfolio, stressed the importance of digital learning tools and modern classrooms.

He said that the state's educational reforms place special emphasis on the digital education system.

Saha praised Prime Minister Modi’s “Pariksha Pe Charcha” initiative, which he said helps students manage exam-related stress more effectively.

“The Prime Minister started this program with the aim of taking exams as a challenge and not making them a subject of pressure,” he said.

He also underlined the need for a healthy academic atmosphere that promotes fair competition.

“Many people do well in real life despite getting fewer marks in the exam,” Saha remarked. He urged students to focus on patience and hard work, calling them the true keys to success.

Highlighting the vision behind the National Education Policy 2020, Saha said it has been crafted based on India's culture and traditions, with the aim of transforming the country's education system.

“Our prime minister says that good and talented children from families that are not involved in politics should be brought into politics. This will help us get out of the precarious situation in politics. In the future, talented students will have to use their talent, knowledge, and intelligence properly for the development of society and the country,” he added.
