The review meeting focuses on timely delivery and quality of supplies, with centralized procurement aimed at improving coordination and ensuring students across government and welfare institutions receive essential materials without delays.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has asked officials to ensure that essential educational materials reach students in government schools on time, emphasizing efficiency and accountability in the supply process.
The directive came during a review meeting on centralized procurement of student supplies for institutions run by the Education Department as well as BC, Minority, Tribal, and SC welfare departments.

Reddy said the centralized system was introduced to address inconsistencies in the earlier approach, where different departments managed procurement independently.
According to a press release, this had led to a lack of uniformity and instances of malpractice and misappropriation of funds, particularly in the supply of uniforms and notebooks.
He warned that such irregularities would not be tolerated and said the new system must improve transparency and accountability. The chief minister added that the primary focus of the policy is to benefit students.
Officials have been instructed to ensure that all materials, including notebooks, trunk boxes, plates, glasses, tracksuits, bed sheets, school bags, ID cards, and uniforms, meet quality standards before distribution.
