The move affects exams within a six-day window only, with the rest of the schedule unchanged, as the university prepares revised datesheets and advises students to check the official portal for updates.

The University of Delhi has postponed a set of postgraduate and professional semester examinations scheduled between May 20 and May 25, 2026, citing “unavoidable circumstances,” according to an official notification issued on May 1.
The university said the change applies only to exams planned within this six-day period, while the rest of the examination schedule will continue without any modification.

A large number of students enrolled in various postgraduate and professional programs will be affected by the decision. However, officials said efforts are being made to limit disruption by keeping the broader exam calendar unchanged.
The Examination Wing clarified that papers scheduled before May 20 and after May 25 will be conducted as per the original datesheet.
Departments have been asked to prepare revised schedules for the affected exams. The university has directed that the new datesheets be planned carefully to avoid clashes, academic overlap, or logistical issues.
Officials said the updated timetable will be finalized after administrative review and approval.
Students have been advised to check the official examination portal, exam.du.ac.in, for updates. Revised schedules and notifications will be uploaded once they are approved.
Those enrolled under the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board and the School of Open Learning have also been asked to follow their respective portals for course-specific information.
While the university has cited “unavoidable circumstances” for the postponement, it has not disclosed further details.
Officials said the decision was taken for administrative reasons, and a revised schedule is expected to be released soon.
