Sitharaman inaugurated ₹18 lakh worth of digital and science infrastructure at a West Godavari school, urging teachers to ensure attendance and students to actively participate in learning and skill development.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the importance of education as a key driver of development and international recognition, urging students to focus on higher studies and sports to bring prestige to India.
She made these remarks while addressing students at a program in West Godavari district on Dec 28, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting every student in pursuing higher education and achieving greater success.

Sitharaman inaugurated and dedicated infrastructure facilities worth ₹18 lakh, provided by Union Bank, at the Zilla Parishad High School in Peda Mainavani Lanka village of Narsapuram mandal.
The upgrades include computers, science laboratories, and other essential amenities designed to enhance digital and science-based learning. The minister has adopted the village for its overall development.
During her interaction with students, she encouraged active participation in digital classes, saying, “Digital education enables students to understand global developments and improve academic standards.”
She also advised teachers to maintain full attendance and provide individual attention to each student.
The minister urged youth from coastal regions to pursue higher education and dedicate themselves to serving the nation and the state.
She assured that the government is committed to supporting regional development and welfare while stressing that students must stay focused on their studies.
Sitharaman also emphasized the role of sports alongside academics, saying, “Education and sports together bring recognition and prestige to India at the global level.”
She highlighted that today’s youth bear the responsibility of shaping the country’s future through progressive thinking and commitment.

The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathi Raju Srinivasa Varma. State Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav was also present. Irrigation Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu attended the program.
BJP State President PVN Madhav was in attendance. District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani was present at the event. SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi attended as well. Headmaster MD Ibrahim was among the attendees.
School Education Committee Chairman CH Narasimha Swamy was also present. Teachers and public representatives attended the function. Alliance leaders and local residents were present. Students and their parents also attended the event.
