The three-day initiative, titled Mission Sahasi, will be conducted at colleges and universities across West Bengal to equip female students with physical self-defence skills and mental preparedness.

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student organisation affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), is set to organise a statewide self-defence training programme for female students in West Bengal from November 14 to 16, 2026.
The initiative, named 'Mission Sahasi', will be organised across college and university campuses in the state, according to ABVP leaders. The programme aims to help female students develop the skills and confidence required to respond to challenging and potentially threatening situations. The three-day training programme will focus on two major aspects: physical self-defence techniques and psychological preparedness. Participants will be trained to handle difficult circumstances through practical self-protection skills and mental readiness.

Under Mission Sahasi, ABVP plans to extend self-defence training opportunities to female students across higher education institutions in West Bengal. The programme is intended to equip participants with practical techniques to protect themselves in difficult situations. Alongside physical training, the initiative will also emphasise mental strength, confidence and the ability to respond appropriately when confronted with challenging circumstances.
The organisation's leaders said the training sessions would be conducted at college and university campuses across the state between November 14 and November 16.
ABVP had previously conducted a similar self-defence training initiative in Kolkata in September 2024. The programme was organised at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex and attracted approximately 800 students. The earlier initiative also focused on preparing female students to deal with difficult situations through physical self-defence techniques and psychological confidence-building exercises.
With the proposed statewide programme in November 2026, ABVP aims to expand the reach of Mission Sahasi to students studying at colleges and universities across West Bengal. The latest initiative is part of the organisation's efforts to promote self-defence awareness and encourage greater confidence among female students.
