The University of Manchester, UK has unveiled more than 230 merit-based master's scholarships for Indian students in 2025, aimed at offering financial support to deserving candidates.
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance and will be provided in the form of reduced tuition fees.
University of Manchester: Global Futures Scholarship
Students from all across the world, including India, are eligible to apply for the Global Futures Scholarship for both undergraduate and graduate studies.
Over 100 merit-based undergraduate scholarships worth up to £24,000 (₹26,06,229.60 annually over three years) will be awarded by the university to overseas students.
Applicants must be fee-paying and domiciled in India, holding a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of Manchester.
Scholarships are available for various schools, including the School of Social Sciences, School of Environment, Education and Development, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures, and Alliance Manchester Business School.
Prospective students must submit their scholarship applications online by April 10, and successful applicants will be notified by April 30.
For postgraduate students, the university offers 230 merit-based scholarships worth £8,000 (₹8,68,604.80) for South Asian students.
These scholarships will be awarded as a discount on overseas tuition fees. Applicants will be considered based on academic merit and the quality of their scholarship application.
The application form will be accessible to students once they have applied and received an offer (either conditional or unconditional).

University of Manchester: GREAT Scholarship 2025:
In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of Manchester is providing eligible students with a GREAT scholarship worth £10,000 (₹10,85,852) to help pay tuition for the majority of one-year master's degrees.
Students from India who plan to enroll in the 2025–2026 academic year are eligible to receive a GREAT scholarship for teaching master’s programs in the School of Arts, Languages, and Cultures.
Indian students must apply by April 24, with results announced by May 30, 2025.
The Humanities Postgraduate Scholarships offer £10,000 in funding, granted based on academic merit without the need for a separate application.
This scholarship provides one year of funding and is available to applicants domiciled in India who are paying international tuition fees.
The Manchester Humanities International Excellence Scholarship is available to self-funded Indian applicants, offering up to £5,000 (₹5,42,895) based on the program's tuition fees.
Applicants must be domiciled in India, hold an offer for an eligible program, meet specified academic entry criteria, and be self-funded (not sponsored).
The scholarship offers £2,500 (₹2,71,447.50) for programs with tuition fees below or equal to £28,000 (₹30,40,212) and £5,000 (₹5,42,895) for programs with tuition fees above £28,000 or any listed programs within the Manchester Institute of Education.
Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute Taught Masters Scholarships:
This scholarship supports students starting their studies in September 2025 and offers £14,000 (₹15,20,163.40) for specific fields of study.
There will be one scholarship available for each of the following programs: MA in Humanitarianism and Conflict Response and MSc in International Disaster Management. These scholarships are open to applicants of any nationality.
However, students who have already accepted full scholarships or bursaries for September 2025 entry are ineligible to apply.
