ETS TOEFL collaborates with NISAU to grant scholarship for Indian students in UK

The Educational Testing Service (ETS) in collaboration with the National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) has announced ‘UK-India TOEFL Scholarship’ for students who wish to enroll in full-time undergrad and postgrad courses in UK.

The second edition of the UK-India TOEFL Scholarship will award Rs 2.5 lakh to 10 Indian students.
Students who wish to pursue higher education in the United Kingdom can apply for the scholarship at toefltest.in/scholarship. Last date to apply for the scholarship is July 15.

The one-time scholarship is designed to cover expenses including tuition, books and transportation. It aims to help the students willing to pursue full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in the UK in the fall 2024 or spring 2025 session

Students who have scored a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test score of 75 out of 120 and have an offer letter from a UK university for Fall 2024 or Spring 2015 are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

A panel comprising representatives from NISAU and UK universities will select the 10 scholarship recipients. The successful recipients of the UK-India TOEFL Scholarship will act as TOEFL ambassadors during their studies, promoting the program and sharing their experiences.

Speaking about the initiative, the country manager of India and South Asia at ETS, Sachin Jain, said: “The scholarship aligns with our mission of advancing equity and access to quality higher education globally. The TOEFL test remains the most widely accepted test of English-language proficiency and has enabled admissions of millions of deserving students to universities worldwide."

"We are committed to supporting the aspirations of Indian students seeking to broaden their horizons through international education. Through initiatives like the TOEFL scholarship, we aim to support deserving Indian students in realizing their academic aspirations at UK universities and contributing to the global community. We look forward to continuing our efforts to enhance access to quality education and foster cross-cultural exchange between India and the UK,” said Sanam Arora, Chairperson of NISAU.

The TOEFL iBT is an English-language proficiency test, and its scores are accepted by over 12,500 institutions in more than 160 countries worldwide.
