RRB NTPC 2026 notification released for 5,165 graduate and undergraduate posts

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released indicative notifications for recruitment to 5,165 Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) posts for the 2026 recruitment cycle.

The vacancies have been divided between graduate-level and undergraduate-level posts under Centralised Employment Notifications CEN 06/2026 and CEN 07/2026, respectively. The graduate category accounts for 3,477 vacancies, while 1,688 vacancies are for undergraduate-level posts.

The recruitment notifications were issued on Sep 21. The detailed Centralised Employment Notifications containing complete eligibility conditions, post-wise requirements and other recruitment rules will be released separately.

RRB NTPC 2026 application dates

For graduate-level posts, the online application window is scheduled to open on October 8, 2026 and close on November 6, 2026, at 11:59 pm.

For undergraduate-level posts, applications are scheduled to begin on October 15 and close on November 13, 2026, at 11:59 pm.

Candidates will be able to apply through the RRB's online recruitment portal once the respective application windows open.

RRB NTPC graduate vacancies

The 3,477 graduate-level vacancies include posts such as:

Goods Train Manager
Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor
Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist
Senior Clerk-cum-Typist

The approved vacancy figures include 2,750 Goods Train Manager posts, 56 Chief Commercial-cum-Ticket Supervisor posts, 300 Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist posts and 371 Senior Clerk-cum-Typist posts.

RRB NTPC undergraduate vacancies

The 1,688 undergraduate-level vacancies are for candidates at the 12th-level qualification and include:

Trains Clerk
Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk
Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist
Junior Clerk-cum-Typist

Among these, 700 vacancies are for Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk posts, 600 for Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, 200 for Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist and 188 for Trains Clerk.

Detailed notification to provide further eligibility details

The RRB has indicated that the detailed notification for the graduate recruitment will be issued on October 7, while the detailed undergraduate notification is scheduled for Oct 14.

The detailed notices will contain the complete eligibility criteria, medical standards, recruitment conditions and other information candidates will need before submitting applications.

Candidates should therefore rely on the respective detailed CEN and official RRB portals for the final application requirements once they are released.
