A family once celebrated for multiple NEET successes is now facing CBI scrutiny over allegations of buying and selling the leaked 2026 question paper.

The Biwal family of Rajasthan, which drew attention last year after four children cracked the NEET and secured admission to government medical colleges, now finds itself at the centre of the NEET 2026 paper leak investigation.
On May 14, CBI officials spent more than three hours at the family’s sprawling residence in Jamwa Ramgarh, near Jaipur, as the probe widened. Located amid the Aravalli foothills, the property became the latest focal point in a case that has triggered national outrage.

Investigators allege that the leaked NEET paper moved through a chain beginning with Shubham Khairnar of Nashik, who allegedly passed it to Yash Yadav of Gurugram. Yadav is then believed to have shared it with the Biwal family.
According to officials, Yash knew Vikas Biwal, son of Mangilal Biwal. Once the paper was allegedly secured for ₹15-30 lakh, brothers Dinesh and Mangilal Biwal are accused of selling it onward in Sikar for profit.
The CBI has arrested Dinesh, Mangilal and Vikas Biwal.
The brothers run a local real estate business, Biwal Properties, in Jamwa Ramgarh. A third brother, Ghanshyam Biwal, is deceased.
The family had publicly celebrated its academic success just months ago. In a Facebook post dated November 6, 2025, Dinesh Biwal wrote that five children from the family had secured admission to government medical colleges, calling it “a matter of great pride.”
That success is now under fresh scrutiny.
Congress leaders have alleged that the family may have benefited from unfair means in the NEET examinations of 2024 and 2025 as well.
Mangilal’s two children, including Vikas, cleared NEET in 2025 and are currently enrolled in government medical colleges in Rajasthan. Ghanshyam’s two daughters also cleared the exam last year and are pursuing MBBS degrees. Investigators suspect Dinesh was particularly interested in obtaining the 2026 paper because his minor son was scheduled to appear for the exam. His wife, Rajni, has acknowledged that four family members cleared NEET last year.
The case has also triggered political controversy.
The family’s links with BJP leaders have come under the spotlight after photographs surfaced showing the brothers with several senior party figures, including sitting Jamwa Ramgarh MLA Mahendra Pal Meena. Dinesh had also put up public hoardings in January featuring himself alongside the MLA.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot alleged that Dinesh Biwal was a BJP office-bearer and questioned whether political patronage delayed action in the case.
Rejecting the charge, BJP Rajasthan chief Madan Rathore said no member of the Biwal family was associated with the party and accused Gehlot of making “baseless allegations.”
Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra escalated the attack, alleging that “BJP’s paper leak masterminds” had been involved in NEET leaks from 2024 to 2026.
Before the CBI raid, the accused brothers’ mother, Prabhu Devi, defended her sons and called the allegations false. “They are being framed,” she said.
During a recent search, officials seized several documents and other materials from the family home.
A day earlier, while being escorted away by investigators, one family member attempted to shield his face and shouted: “Bade logon ko bachaya ja raha hai” — a claim that “the bigwigs are being protected.”
