Parents can submit online forms until Dec 27, with age rules, document checks, point-based evaluations, and two selection lists forming the core of Delhi’s private school admission cycle.

Delhi has opened the admission process for entry-level classes in private unaided schools for the 2026–27 academic year, with online applications now available on edudel.nic.in.
The Directorate of Education announced that parents can submit forms for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 from Dec 4 through Dec 27, urging families to review each school’s criteria and point system before applying, as demand typically runs high.

According to the schedule, schools must upload applicant information by Jan 9, and the points assigned to each candidate will be posted on Jan 16.
The first selection list will be published on Jan 23, followed by a window for parents to raise queries on point allocation from Jan 24 to Feb 3. A second list is set for Feb 9, and the entire admission cycle will close on March 19.
For eligibility, children must be at least 3 years old for Nursery, 4 for KG, and 5 for Class 1 as of March 31, 2026. Schools may provide up to one month of age relief at the discretion of the Head of School.
Families are advised to keep documents such as a ration card, domicile certificate, voter ID, Aadhaar card, and utility bills ready before beginning the form.

The application process requires parents to register on the website, fill out the form, upload documents, make the payment, and save a copy of the submission.
The Directorate has directed schools to conduct the draw of lots in a transparent manner in the presence of parents, whether done digitally or using paper slips.
It has also clarified that students already enrolled in Nursery and KG this year will be promoted to the next grade, and fresh Nursery seats will be available only for children who are three but not yet four by March 31, 2026.
