Candidates can now submit bank account details until June 22, while officials prepare enhanced surveillance and heatwave-related arrangements for the nationwide re-examination on June 21.

The National Testing Agency has extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit bank account details for examination fee refunds, allowing applicants to complete the process until June 22 at 11:50 PM through the official portal.
The agency said nearly 13 lakh candidates have already updated their refund information. The facility was initially available from May 22 to May 27 but has now been reopened for candidates who were unable to complete the process earlier.

In a notice issued on May 27, NTA said candidates can log in to the NEET UG 2026 portal using their application credentials and access the refund submission link.
The agency advised candidates to carefully verify bank information before final submission, as no modifications will be permitted afterward. Candidates may also upload a scanned copy of a canceled cheque to reduce the chances of errors during the refund process.
To complete the refund submission process, candidates need details including the account holder’s name, IFSC code, bank account number, and bank name.
Candidates can submit their details by visiting neet.nta.nic.in, logging in with their application number and password, verifying access through OTP, clicking on the refund link, entering bank account information, uploading a canceled cheque if required, and submitting the form before the deadline.
The extension comes as preparations continue for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on May 27 reviewed arrangements for the upcoming re-exam along with former ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan, who currently heads the high-powered steering committee monitoring reforms and implementation measures related to the National Testing Agency.
The meeting focused on strengthening surveillance systems and tightening examination security following concerns over question paper leaks and irregularities linked to the earlier examination conducted on May 3.
Senior officials, including Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh, ministry representatives, and agency officials, attended the review meeting.
According to officials, NTA briefed the committee on additional monitoring and surveillance measures being introduced to ensure secure conduct of the examination across the country.
Pradhan stressed the need for foolproof security arrangements while also ensuring that examination centers remain student-friendly and adequately equipped.
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination is scheduled to be conducted at more than 5,400 centers across 550 cities nationwide.
The Ministry of Education also confirmed that the Union Education Minister has written to all chief ministers, lieutenant governors, and administrators seeking cooperation to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination for over 2.3 million candidates.
Pradhan additionally highlighted severe heatwave conditions prevailing across several states and urged authorities to ensure proper facilities for candidates at examination centers, including basic arrangements necessary during extreme temperatures.
Earlier this month, NTA canceled the original NEET UG 2026 examination after investigations found that several questions resembling those in the actual paper had circulated before the test.
