The university aims to provide a regulated, academically supervised consultation system with fixed fees, official receipts, and documented procedures for astrology and related advisory services.

Lucknow University will soon open its astrology consultancy services to the general public, expanding an initiative that until now has been limited to students and staff, university officials said on Feb 7.
The Jyotish Paramarsh Kendra, operated by the university’s Department of Jyotir Vigyan, is being positioned as an academically supervised alternative to informal astrology practices.

Officials said the move is intended to introduce a regulated and documented consultation system with fixed time slots and official billing.
Under the expanded plan, the center will offer guidance on career prospects, health, marriage, education, finances, investments, and property matters.
Consultations based on birth charts will be conducted for a minimum of 15 minutes, with fees starting at ₹1,500 per session.
Short consultations of 15 minutes related to foreign travel, social standing, prestige, and political career prospects will be available at ₹500.
The center will also provide hora astrology and palmistry sessions lasting 30 minutes at ₹700, while numerology-based counseling will be offered at ₹1,700.
Specialized consultations covering the impact of tantra mantra practices and interpretation of omens and dreams will cost ₹1,900 for 30 minutes. Horoscope matching, including manglik analysis, will be available for ₹1,500.
Lucknow University has been offering academic programs in Jyotir Vigyan since Oct 18, 2001, with graduate and master’s courses taught in Hindi, English, and Sanskrit.
The consultancy center began functioning in August and currently serves only members of the university community.
Shyamlesh Kumar Tiwari, coordinator of the Jyotir Vigyan department, said the university administration has approved both the service framework and fee structure.
“The necessary upgradation of the center will be undertaken, based on the requirement, before formally opening consultations,” he said.
The center will also prepare horoscopes on request. A short horoscope will be delivered within three days for ₹500, a medium version with lagna and chandra charts within seven days for ₹1,100, and a detailed analysis within 15 days for ₹3,100. A computerized horoscope with shadvarga analysis will be available within a day for ₹1,100.
Vastu consultancy services will be offered at ₹5 per square foot for residential properties and ₹15 per square foot for commercial properties, subject to submission of site maps with clear directional details.
To improve access within the campus, students, staff, and their family members will receive a 15% concession on consultancy charges.
Officials said all services will strictly follow university financial rules and will be provided only after issuance of an official receipt by the finance department. Detailed guidelines for appointments and documentation are expected to be released shortly.
