The three-month program aims to give young people hands-on exposure to public administration, policy implementation and government projects while encouraging greater youth participation in Ladakh's governance.

The Ladakh administration has invited applications for 2,000 paid internships across 25 government departments under the LG Yuva Internship Programme.
Registrations for the three-month internship opened on Aug 22 and will continue until Sept 5, 2026. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000.

Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena launched the 'Zhabstok Ladakh' Youth Internship Portal. Candidates can apply through the official website, internship.ladakh.gov.in.
The administration will conduct document verification from Sept 6 to Sept 14, with the internship scheduled to begin on Sept 17.
Participants will be placed in different departments based on their skills and interests. The program will provide them with practical exposure to government functioning, public administration and the implementation of policies, proposals, programs and projects.
The initial internship period is three months. Candidates who perform well may receive an additional three-month extension based on their performance.
Interns who successfully complete the program will also receive certificates.
Speaking at the launch, Lieutenant Governor Saxena said the initiative would give young people practical experience while allowing them to contribute their ideas to government departments.
The administration said the program is aimed at increasing youth participation in government-related projects and public administration, particularly as a large proportion of Ladakh's population is below 30 years of age.
