The university releases a 150-page prospectus detailing eligibility, entrance exams, expanded test centers, and revised international fees and confirms no fee hike for any course in the upcoming academic year.

Jamia Millia Islamia has opened admissions for the 2026–27 academic session, releasing a comprehensive 150-page prospectus that details entry requirements, course structures, and timelines for applicants across programs.
The document was unveiled by Vice Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif, Registrar Prof Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi, and Controller of Examinations Prof Ahteshamul Haque.

The prospectus covers undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and advanced diploma programs.
It lays out eligibility conditions, application procedures, entrance examination formats, admit card guidelines, syllabi, examination centers, fee structures, and schedules for result announcements.
Online applications for all programs opened today through the university’s official admission portal. Thirty new programs introduced with no fee increase.
The CoE, Prof Haque, confirmed that JMI has introduced 30 new programs for the upcoming session.
Additions at the undergraduate level include BA (Hons) Japanese Studies, BA (Hons) German Studies, BA (Hons) Uzbek Language, Literature & Culture, and BA (Hons) Human Resource Management.
The university has also launched BTech in Robotics & Artificial Intelligence and Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), along with BVoc in Molecular Diagnostics.
At the postgraduate level, new offerings include MSc programs in Biosciences, Biotechnology, Botany, and Biophysics; an MTech in Material Science & Technology; LLM programs in Criminal Law, Corporate Law, and Personal Law; and a Master of Hotel Management.
An Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling and certificate courses in painting and calligraphy have also been introduced.
The university has not increased fees for any course for the 2026–27 session. Admissions under the Multiple Entry Mode for Four-Year Undergraduate Programs will begin this year in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020, allowing students greater academic flexibility.
Expanded test centers and international fee reduction
To improve access for applicants nationwide, JMI has expanded its entrance examination network from eight to eleven cities, adding Jaipur, Dehradun, and Kishanganj.
Existing test centers include Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut, and Bhopal.
The university has also revised its fee structure for international students by introducing region-specific differentials for applicants from SAARC countries, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Applications for programs requiring entrance examinations will remain open until March 25, 2026. Admissions based on national-level tests such as JEE Mains, NATA, NEET for BPT, NCET, and CUET will stay open for 10 days after the respective results are declared.
Applications for vacant seats under the Four-Year Undergraduate Program are open until April 10, 2026.
Prof Asif and Prof Rizvi said the university aims to widen academic access while upholding academic standards and strengthening national and international outreach.
Candidates have been advised to review the official prospectus carefully and complete applications through the JMI admission portal.
