The company is setting up robotics labs and offering intensive internships to give engineering students hands-on experience with industrial systems and prepare them for advanced manufacturing roles.
Epson, a Japanese tech company, has introduced a new initiative aimed at strengthening robotics training for engineering students in India, linking classroom learning with hands-on industry exposure.
The company said the effort is intended to equip young engineers with practical skills that match the demands of advanced manufacturing.

Under the program, students will receive internship opportunities at the Epson Solution Center in Bengaluru, and select colleges will host dedicated robotics labs.
The first lab has been set up at the Ramaiah Institute of Technology in Bengaluru, and another is planned at the Vellore Institute of Technology in Chennai.
These facilities feature Epson’s SCARA and 6-axis robots used globally for tasks such as assembly, material handling, packaging, and inspection.
Epson has already enrolled its first group of 22 students from four engineering institutes for a 19-day training internship in Bengaluru, giving them exposure to real manufacturing environments and modern robotics systems.
“At Epson, we believe in empowering the next generation of engineers with the tools and training they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving industry,” said Siva Kumar, Sr General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Epson India.
“Our partnerships with academic institutions and the dedicated internship program are all about giving students the exposure they need to step confidently into the workforce,” Kumar added.
The company said more than 100 students are expected to be trained in FY25 as it expands collaborations with engineering institutions across the country to encourage innovation and support skill development in robotics.
