Offered by IITM Pravartak and TimesPro, the seven-month program features live online sessions, hands-on projects, and industry tools to prepare professionals for high-impact roles in AI.
IIT Madras has unveiled a new online certificate course in applied artificial intelligence and deep learning, aimed at equipping professionals with industry-relevant AI skills.
The program is being offered by IITM Pravartak, the institute’s technology innovation hub, in association with TimesPro.
Applications are open until Sept 6 for the seven-month course, which begins on Sept 13.
The course fee is ₹1.44 lakh plus taxes and will be delivered through live online sessions and also include a capstone project to give learners hands-on experience.
Participants can optionally attend an in-person immersion at the IIT Madras Research Park.
The course targets individuals with academic or professional backgrounds in engineering, data science, or mathematics.
It features nine modules covering areas such as machine learning, deep learning, statistical reasoning, cybersecurity, and generative AI.
Learners will work with tools including Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and MLOps.
Dr MJ Shankar Raman, CEO of IITM Pravartak, said the course is designed to “bridge the industry-academia gap by creating professionals who can solve complex challenges using real-time data intelligence.”
“This is more than a certificate. It is a career-building opportunity,” added Sridhar Nagarajachar, Business Head at TimesPro.
Graduates will receive a completion certificate from IITM Pravartak, backed by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
The program is intended to prepare learners for key roles in the field, including data scientist, AI/ML research scientist, machine learning engineer, deep learning specialist, and business intelligence analyst.
