To support students facing financial hardship, IIT Delhi has introduced tuition fee waivers, monthly allowances, and over 120 scholarships for JEE Advanced 2025 qualifiers across various categories.
IIT Delhi has introduced a range of scholarships and fee waivers for students qualifying through JEE Advanced 2025, aimed at ensuring financial constraints do not prevent deserving candidates from securing admission.
The institute is offering Merit-cum-Means (MCM) scholarships to nearly 25% of undergraduates enrolled in BTech, MA, MSc, and MPP programs.
These scholarships are available to students whose annual family income is up to ₹8 lakh. Recipients will receive ₹4,000 per month along with full tuition fee waivers.
Continuation of the scholarship is subject to maintaining a CGPA of at least 6.0 and undergoing income verification every year.
An additional 10% of students from the same income bracket are eligible for full tuition fee exemptions under the Institute Free Studentship scheme.
All SC, ST, and PwD students are automatically granted full tuition fee exemptions at IIT Delhi.
The financial aid support also includes free hostel seat rent for students from families earning under ₹8 lakh annually, along with a ₹1,000 monthly pocket allowance to help cover essential living expenses.
Beyond institutional aid, the institute manages over 120 scholarships funded by alumni, companies, and foundations.
These awards range from ₹25,000 to ₹1 lakh annually and are distributed based on family income, academic performance, gender, chosen discipline, and JEE rank.
Key scholarships include:
With JoSAA counseling rounds underway, these financial aid initiatives offer significant relief to incoming students.
“The aim is to ensure that no student misses out on quality education because of financial limitations,” the institute said, highlighting its commitment to equal access and academic excellence.
