The Times Higher Education Asia University Rankings 2025 spotlight the region’s leading research-driven institutions, featuring 853 universities across 35 countries and territories.

China continues to dominate, securing both the first and second spots with Tsinghua University and Peking University, respectively, and claiming five of the top 10 positions overall.

Singapore also maintains a strong presence, with the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University taking the third and fourth ranks.

Other top 10 appearances include the University of Tokyo (5) from Japan and the University of Hong Kong (6) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (9). Notably, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Mongolia, and Syria make their debut in the rankings this year.

In a milestone for Hong Kong, all six of its ranked universities have landed in the top 50 — a first since 2017.
