IIM Rohtak's 15th MBA batch sets a milestone with 73% female students

IIM Rohtak's New MBA Batch: The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM Rohtak) proudly welcomed the 15th batch of its flagship Post-Graduate Programme (MBA), marking a milestone with 73% female candidates. This highlights the institute's dedication to gender diversity and empowerment.

A Diverse Cohort

The new batch represents the geographic diversity of India, with students from 24 states and union territories. It also showcases a blend of graduates from various disciplines, including engineering, science, commerce, management, arts, law, design, architecture, pharmacy, and journalism. Many students bring valuable work experience from top companies like Accenture, Bank of America, Capgemini, Deloitte, EY, Infosys, KPMG, PwC, TCS, and Wipro. The batch also includes state-level athletes in sports like badminton, throwball, and basketball.

Induction Ceremony Highlights

The induction ceremony, held on June 29-30, 2024, featured notable speakers, including:

  • Shri Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS), DGP of Haryana: He emphasized the importance of education from prestigious institutions, relationships, and network building. He advised students to set clear goals, embrace diversity, and focus on excellence, sharing valuable leadership lessons from his police career.
  • Smt. Nidhi Khare (IAS), Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs: She commended IIM Rohtak's legacy of excellence and urged students to innovate for sustainable growth. She emphasized leadership's actual test in unforeseen challenges and the importance of consumer rights and sustainability.
  • Gen. A. K. Singh (PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM) (Retd.): He inspired students to understand life's purpose, choose integrity over shortcuts, and emphasize trust and resilience. His advice focused on moral integrity and overcoming challenges, quoting Swami Vivekananda on life's obstacles.

In his inaugural speech, Prof. Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak, welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of peer-to-peer engagement and maximizing learning opportunities. He encouraged students to reflect on their experiences and seize opportunities to become better individuals.

Two insightful panels were part of the ceremony:

  • Corporate Leaders Panel: Professionals like Mr. Navneet Bansal (CEO, JSW Global Business), Ms. Rucchika Garg (Head HR, Sharp India), and others discussed strategies for personal and professional development, emphasizing continuous learning, teamwork, and resilience.
  • Military Leadership Panel: Retired generals like Lt. Gen. Sanjeev Anand and others shared lessons on strategic leadership, performance, team spirit, and integrity, urging students to adopt these values for corporate success.
