The Jobs will connect small businesses, local governments, and large companies with qualified candidates while offering free AI certifications through OpenAI Academy to boost skills and employment opportunities nationwide.

OpenAI is preparing to enter the online employment space with a new AI-powered job marketplace aimed at connecting businesses and candidates more efficiently.
The platform, called OpenAI Jobs, is expected to launch sometime next year, CEO Sam Altman said.

Unlike traditional job boards, the platform will use advanced algorithms to align company requirements with applicant skills.
“Help find the perfect matches,” said Fidji Simo, OpenAI’s CEO of Applications, in a blog post, highlighting the platform’s goal of precise talent alignment.
OpenAI Jobs will serve a broad range of employers, including small businesses, local governments, and community organizations, alongside larger partners such as John Deere, Walmart, Accenture, and Boston Consulting Group.
The initiative aims to level the playing field for smaller companies that often struggle to attract qualified candidates against larger firms with bigger budgets.
OpenAI says the platform could also help stimulate local economies by connecting AI talent directly with smaller employers.
The project includes an educational component through OpenAI Academy, which already has more than two million users.
The platform will offer free certifications, ranging from basic AI workplace skills to advanced training in custom jobs and prompt engineering, with support from partners like Walmart. OpenAI hopes to certify 10 million Americans by 2030.
Altman emphasized that OpenAI Jobs is part of the company’s broader expansion beyond ChatGPT, which also includes a browser and potential social media app.
Simo will oversee the jobs platform along with other experimental initiatives.
For now, the focus remains on reshaping the job market. Long dominated by a single platform, the industry may soon see a new competitor, one built on AI-driven matching rather than traditional resumes.
