IIM Kozhikode launches applied finance certificate program for working professionals

IIM Kozhikode, in collaboration with global education provider Emeritus, has introduced a Professional Certificate Programme in Applied Finance, designed to equip professionals with advanced financial skills amid the growing complexity of modern financial markets.

The program is set to commence on June 28, 2025.

The program is structured to prepare participants for strategic and analytical roles in the finance sector.

The course emphasizes skills in evaluating investment opportunities, managing financial risk, and aligning financial strategies with broader business goals.

The curriculum focuses on real-world financial applications, including data interpretation, capital strategy development, and valuation modeling.

Instruction will be delivered through live online sessions by IIM Kozhikode faculty and industry experts.

The course includes ten modules and features a two-day on-campus immersion at IIM Kozhikode to enhance peer and faculty engagement.

Key topics covered in the program include corporate finance and strategic decision-making, mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring, risk management techniques, portfolio theory and asset allocation, valuation and financial modeling, and digital finance along with emerging business models.

The sessions will integrate activity-based learning, practical exercises, and interactive discussions to strengthen applied knowledge.

The program is open to professionals with a minimum of three years of full-time work experience.

Eligible candidates include finance managers, analysts, accountants, consultants, professionals in securities and broking, and individuals in non-finance roles seeking financial literacy.

Applicants must hold at least a graduate or diploma qualification under the 10+2+3 system.

The total program fee is ₹237,500 plus applicable GST.

Participants who complete all requirements will receive a verified digital certificate from IIM Kozhikode and will be awarded Executive Alumni status, granting them access to the institute’s professional network.
