FIITJEE to refund proportionate fees from June 2026 for students affected by offline class suspension

FIITJEE has announced that parents of students impacted by the 2025 suspension of offline classes at select centers will start receiving proportionate fee refunds from late June 2026.

The institute said the entire refund exercise will be managed solely by its corporate office in Delhi, and local centers will not be involved in processing payments.

In a communication sent to parents, FIITJEE stated that individual refund calculations will be shared by June 15, 2026. It added that a dedicated email ID will become operational from June 16, 2026, for parents who require clarification or wish to raise concerns about delays.

The issue traces back to August 2024, when several FIITJEE centers abruptly stopped conducting in-person classes. At the time, the institute cited a ‘force majeure’ situation arising from external developments and financial stress, prompting a shift to its FIITJEE e-school online platform.

The disruption was linked to a broader institutional crisis marked by salary delays and the shutdown of certain centers, which ultimately led to a large-scale restructuring initiative under what the institute now calls the FIITJEE Universe framework.

In its latest statement, FIITJEE attributed the 2025 interruption to what it described as ‘external developments’ that created circumstances comparable to force majeure, resulting in the suspension of physical classes at some locations. It also mentioned the circulation of claims concerning the operational status of certain centers.

Despite the halt in classroom teaching, the institute said students continued preparing for competitive examinations such as JEE Main and JEE Advanced, along with board exams, Olympiads, and other national-level tests through digital mode.

As part of its reorganization, FIITJEE has introduced a collaborative operating structure under the “FIITJEE Universe” framework. Under this arrangement, centers will function in partnership with entrepreneurs.

The model encompasses FIITJEE Centres for core coaching programs, FIITJEE World Schools and Junior Colleges aligned with state board curricula, and FIITJEE Global Schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education.

According to the institute, the framework does not operate as a conventional franchise system involving recurring royalty payments. Instead, it requires a one-time setup contribution and an annual license fee.

FIITJEE said this structure is designed to channel resources toward strategy, innovation, and systems management.

The institute further clarified that its coaching centers function independently of school and college entities, which are administered by not-for-profit organizations such as the FIITJEE Foundation for Education Research Training.

Highlighting its academic initiatives, FIITJEE referred to the launch of integrated school programs in 2003 and the development of an education model aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.

It said the ongoing restructuring aims to stabilize operations, standardize service delivery across centers, and ensure uninterrupted academic support for students preparing for engineering entrance examinations.
