SDM University marked National Doctors Day 2026 by honouring three distinguished faculty members for their outstanding contributions to medical education and patient care.

SDM University celebrated National Doctors Day on 1st July 2026. Doctors Day is been celebrated in the Country to commemorate the Birthday of Dr BC Roy, an eminent Doctor and Notable Chief Minister of West Bengal who dedicated himself to serve the mankind. It is also our prime duty to salute all our Doctors who continuously strive themselves for the betterment of the patients.
During the Doctors Day celebration, three eminent Doctors from SDM Medical College and Hospital were felicitated considering there significant contribution to the Medical Education, respective departments and Patients atlarge.

Dr Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, felicitated 3 doctors and addressed that:

Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Executive Director, Shri V. Jeevandhar Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Shri Saketh Shetty, Deputy Medical Director, Shri VG Prabhu, Finance Officer, Dr. Ajantha GS, Deputy Registrar, Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, Principal, SDM Medical College were present during the function.
Dr Kiran Hegde, Medical Superintendent, SDM Medical Hospital, welcomed the Guests. Dr. Mayuri Sawant invoked the all-mighty blessings. Dr Raghunath Shanbag, Dr Sunilkumar KS and Dr Santosh Jeevannavar introduced the 3 awardees. Dr Kavyashree compered the program. Dr Preetam Patil, Professor of Radiology proposed the vote of thanks
