Dr. Vijay K. Kulkarni, a long-serving and respected figure at the SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, has been appointed as the new Principal of the institution. Dr. Kulkarni previously held the positions of Vice Principal (Administration) and Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics.
His journey with SDM Medical College and Hospital began in December 2003, and over the past two decades, he has served in various capacities, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the institution. His extensive experience within the SDM system provides him with a deep understanding of its academic and administrative functions.
Dr. Kulkarni's medical career began with his MBBS degree from Shri B M Patil Medical College, Vijayapur, which he completed in 1999 under Karnataka University. Following this, he pursued his postgraduate studies, obtaining his MD in Pediatrics from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Medical College, Bangalore, under the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in 2003.
As the Head of the Pediatrics department, Dr. Kulkarni has been instrumental in enhancing the quality of pediatric care and education at the hospital. His leadership as Vice Principal (Administration) has further demonstrated his capabilities in managing the institution's administrative affairs.
The appointment of Dr. Kulkarni to the esteemed position of Principal is a testament to his dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to medical education and healthcare.
