The resumption of in-person classes aims to restore normal learning routines, ensure academic continuity, and provide structured education while maintaining precautions for younger students in Delhi’s improving air quality.

Schools in Delhi have resumed physical classes for students of Classes 6 to 9 and Class 11 following an improvement in air quality, ending weeks of closures caused by severe pollution.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked restrictions under GRAP Stage 4 in an official order dated Dec 24, noting a significant decline in pollution levels that allowed easing of earlier measures.

Following this, the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi and the Directorate of Education (DoE) issued a circular directing all government, government-aided, and recognized private schools under the DoE, NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to resume physical classes for the specified grades from Dec 29.
The circular specifies that online classes will not be conducted for these students.
Younger students from Nursery to Class 5 will continue with hybrid learning, combining online and offline modes, until further notice as authorities take a cautious approach to safeguard their health.
Classes 10 and 12, which were already attending physical classes, will continue without change. Pre-board examinations for these grades will proceed as scheduled, ensuring minimal disruption for students preparing for board exams.
All school heads have been instructed to promptly inform parents and guardians about the revised arrangements to facilitate a smooth transition back to offline learning.
The resumption of physical classes is seen as a major step in restoring normal academic routines in Delhi after prolonged disruptions due to air pollution, while authorities continue to monitor conditions closely to balance public health with educational continuity.
