The Digital Agriculture Mission's (DAM) Agri Stack

What does Agri Stack refer to?

Agri Stack is a digital network of technology platforms that merges farmer identity, land records, crop information, and scheme advantages.

The main concept is to tailor agricultural service provision through the use of data-driven tools.

Connecting Agri Stack with PM-KISAN, PMFBY, KCC, and MSP procurement to guarantee specific advantages.

Main Features of the Conference

Highlighted the significance of digital land records and Aadhaar integration for precise identification of farmers.

The Ministry gave a summary of Agri Stack, highlighting the combination of Farmer ID with key programs such as PM-KISAN, PMFBY, and KCC.

CKO launched the Digitally Verifiable Credential (DVC), known as the Kisan Pehchan Patra, enabling farmers to create verified credentials for particular land plots and crops. These DVCs are connected to DigiLocker and are automatically revoked during land mutation.

The Special Central Assistance (SCA) Guidelines were introduced, designating ₹6,000 crore to aid states: ₹4,000 crore for Farmer Registry (which includes legal heir systems) and ₹2,000 crore for Digital Crop Survey, available on a first-come-first-served basis.

The Ministry presented a chatbot powered by AI, developed with Google Gemini and trained on Agri Stack data, which can respond to questions in various languages.

Regarding the Digital Agriculture Mission (DAM)

The Digital Agriculture Mission serves as a comprehensive program to back diverse digital agriculture projects.

This entails developing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), executing the Digital General Crop Estimation Survey (DGCES), and assisting IT projects led by the Central Government, State Governments, and Academic and Research Institutions.

It is based on two key pillars:

Agri Stack

Agricultural Decision Support System.

AgriStack is created as a farmer-focused Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to enhance the provision of services and scheme implementation for farmers.

The Krishi Decision Support System (DSS) will combine remote sensing information on crops, soil, climate, and water resources into an all-encompassing geospatial framework.

The Digital Agriculture Mission's (DAM) advantages

Accessing services and benefits through digital authentication eliminates paperwork and in-person visits.

Accurate data on crop area and yield leads to increased efficiency and transparency in government programs, crop insurance, and loan systems.

Create and track crop maps to improve insurance claims and disaster response.

creation of digital infrastructure to streamline value chains and offer customised advisory services for irrigation, pest control, crop planning, and health.
