On the 10th anniversary of the Framework Agreement (2015), the NSCN-IM reiterated its dedication to uphold the accord, condemning efforts by the Government of India and competing Naga factions (NNPGs) to undermine its core principles and political relevance

What does the Framework Agreement entail?
The Framework Agreement is a significant peace treaty signed on 3rd August 2015 between the Government of India and the National Socialist Council of Nagalim–Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM).

Involved Parties:
Government of India, represented by the Prime Minister of India and interlocutor RN Ravi.
NSCN-IM, portraying leading Naga political priorities.
Main Goals of the FA:
Acknowledge the unique political identity and specific history of the Nagas.
Establish the groundwork for a fresh political connection rooted in mutual respect and coexistence.
Create mutual sovereignty with defined regions of authority.
Develop an action plan for participatory and democratic self-administration in Nagalim.
Notable Aspects of the Framework Agreement:
Acknowledgment of Political Struggle: Recognizes the Indo-Naga situation as a political conflict spanning sixty years, rather than just an administrative issue.
Distinct Naga History: Acknowledges Nagas as a separate political entity with a unique cultural and historical identity.
Shared Sovereignty Model: Suggests well-defined splits of authority between India and Nagalim to promote collaborative harmony.
Mutual Respect for Institutions: Acknowledges the unique political systems of both parties, promoting equal conversation instead of hierarchy.
People-Focused Governance: Instills the notion that authority lies with the people, strengthening Naga desires for democratic autonomy.
Dedication to Harmony and Inclusiveness: Aims for enduring peace by engaging all Naga groups and fostering widespread community backing.
Implementation Strategy: Guarantees a time-specific and practical framework, indicating a commitment to transition from mere words to genuine independence.
