Regarding the Apna Ghar Initiative:
What Is It?

A rest facility program for truck drivers, initiated to tackle exhaustion, cleanliness, and wellness during extensive trips.
Functioned at fuel retail locations along national and state highways by Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

Goal:
To improve road safety, minimize driver fatigue, and enhance living conditions for truck drivers, who play a vital role in India’s logistics industry.
Aids in the development of inclusive infrastructure and social welfare within the transportation ecosystem.
Main Characteristics:
Extensive Availability: 368 rest stops with 4,611 beds functioning along key highways.
Services Provided:
Housing units (10–30 beds each)
Sanitize restrooms and showering spaces (Houdas)
Self-preparation and eating areas
Eateries/Dhabas
Access to clean drinking water
Tech Integration: ‘Apna Ghar’ mobile application introduced for reservations, reviews, and driver interaction.
Public-Private Execution: Developed and overseen by OMCs at retail fuel outlets.
User-Focused Design: Tailored to the requirements of truckers, guided by their feedback and insights from mobile app data analysis.
Importance:
Enhances driver wellness, cleanliness, and safety on the road.
