What is it?

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences is a worldwide, non-profit scientific entity focused on enhancing public administration research and reform via international cooperation.

Founded in:

Established in 1930, with almost a century of impact on administrative theory and comparative governance.

Headquarters: Situated in Brussels, Belgium

Goals:

Encourage comparative research in public administration.

Promote cross-cultural communication and research partnership.

Promote reform frameworks that correspond with modern governance issues.

Participate actively in discussions on global public administration.

Essential Roles:

  • Coordinates three global conferences each year among member countries.
  • Releases the International Review of Administrative Sciences in English, French, and Mandarin.
  • Serves as a platform for policymakers and researchers from more than 90 nations.
  • Works together with the United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN) and UN CEPA.
